Job summary

Workcare seeks an on-site wellness technician in San Luis Obispo, CA to perform functional movement screenings and health assessments. The contractor will manage their own schedule and logistics, traveling to client sites as needed, with compensation based on an hourly rate.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology or Kinesiology, FMS certification, CPR/AED, and at least three years of wellness testing and coaching experience.

Qualifications

• FMS Level 1 or higher certification (if experienced, ability to get certified upon hiring)
• CPR/AED certification required
• 3 years of experience providing wellness and fitness testing services and wellness coaching
• Strong health & fitness knowledge and excellent computer skills
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct various on-site fitness screenings including FMS, blood pressure, body fat measurements, and other screenings following ACSM guidelines.
• Provide participants with guidance regarding mobility, exercise, injury prevention & rehabilitation, nutrition & weight management, stress management, blood pressure, and general health education.
• Provide virtual follow up coaching relating to blood pressure, cholesterol management, diabetes management and general health education.
• Data entry to create FMS screening reports/corrective exercise programs.

Job Summary

Contract Terms: This is an independent contractor engagement. The selected contractor will be responsible for managing their own work methods, schedule, taxes, insurance, and business expenses.

Contract anticipated Schedule:

November 2 - 4: San Luis Obispo, CA

November 5 - 6: Paso Robles, CA

January 13 - 14: Paso Robles, CA

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct various on-site fitness screenings including FMS (functional movement assessment), blood pressure, body fat measurements (BIA), and various other screenings following ACSM guidelines.
• Provide participants with guidance regarding mobility, exercise, injury prevention & rehabilitation, nutrition & weight management, stress management, blood pressure, and general health education.
• Provide virtual follow up coaching relating to blood pressure, cholesterol management, diabetes management and general health education.
• Data entry to create FMS screening reports/corrective exercise programs.

• 3 years of experience providing wellness and fitness testing services and wellness coaching, preferably with first responders.
• Fitness testing experience (Functional Movement Screen etc.) is required. CPR/AED certification required.
• Strong health & fitness knowledge and excellent computer skills a must
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time

This is an independent contractor position. The anticipated starting contract rate is $30 - $35 per hour; however, final compensation will be discussed during the interview process and may vary based on qualifications, experience, certifications, class formats, availability, and other relevant factors.
