The right candidate brings practical fitness center experience, sound judgment, and the confidence to step in, organize priorities, and lead by example.

You May Be the Right Fit If…
  • Have experience working in a fitness center and understand what it takes to keep daily operations running smoothly.
  • Are comfortable leading a team, setting clear expectations, and following through.
  • Enjoy being on the wellness floor, engaging with members and helping them feel comfortable and supported.
  • Notice what needs attention and take action, whether it’s a member concern, an equipment issue, or a gap in staff coverage.
  • Can balance hands‑on floor responsibilities with scheduling, staff supervision, and administrative work.
  • Model the YMCA’s values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in your interactions with members and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily Wellness Center operations at both branches, maintaining consistent standards for service, safety, cleanliness, and staff performance.
  • Spend at least 50% of your time on the wellness floor, engaging members, supporting staff, and monitoring daily operations.
  • Train, schedule, and supervise wellness staff, ensuring appropriate coverage and clear expectations across both locations.
  • Coach staff on member service, floor supervision, safe equipment use, and daily responsibilities.
  • Monitor equipment condition, coordinate maintenance and repairs, and follow through on issues.
  • Ensure workout areas are clean, organized, welcoming, and ready for members.
  • Support member orientations and engagement initiatives, including fitness challenges and special events.
  • Address member concerns promptly and professionally, using sound judgment and involving leadership when needed.
  • Collaborate with program directors and branch leadership to support wellness programming and the overall member experience.
