Job summary

Croasdaile Village is seeking a Wellness Assistant for a part-time schedule in Durham, NC. The role supports the Wellness Director with events, fitness services, and class instruction for seniors.

You will schedule assessments, run group classes, and maintain records and facilities. CPR certification and experience with older adults are preferred; a transition to full-time is possible based on performance and needs.

Qualifications

• Ability to work comfortably with older adults.
• Understanding and accommodating the needs of the aging population.
• Intermediate computer skills; able to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Assist Wellness Director with setting up and promoting events on campus (Wellness Fair, Fall Prevention Week, Senior Olympics, Triathlon).
• Provide and schedule ongoing fitness assessments and personal training sessions.
• Teach or substitute exercise classes for seniors and employees (e.g., Aqua Strength, Dance Fitness, Circuit Training, Boxing, Weights and Bands, Balance, Yoga).
• Maintain accurate client records and track class attendance through an electronic portal.
• Maintain pool and fitness areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Wellness Director.

• Monday, Wednesday, Friday - 9am to 1pm
• Tuesday, Thursday - 10am to 4pm

Required Skills/Abilities

• Ability to work comfortably with older adults
• Understanding and accommodating the needs associated with the aging population
• Intermediate computer skills with ability to learn new technology

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must have CPR certification or willing to obtain
• Nationally recognized personal training and/or group exercise certifications, i.e. ACSM, NASM, ACE
• At least one year working with the senior population
