Job summary

The Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA is seeking a Healthy Lifestyles Director to lead health and wellness programs and inspire members to live their healthiest lives. You will oversee program delivery, staff supervision, budgeting, and engagement initiatives across the branch, including Active Older Adults activities.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in kinesiology or related field, plus group exercise and personal training certifications, and 2+ years of supervisory experience in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in kinesiology, physical education, recreation or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Certifications in group exercise and personal training, or ability to obtain within first 3 months of employment.
• Two+ years of supervisory and staff recruitment experience in health and wellness.
• Experience recruiting, training, and supervising staff and volunteers in health/wellness.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and manages branch health and wellness programs, complying with all Association standards and safety procedures.
• Establishes relationships with public health, physician, payer communities and other referral networks to enhance awareness of and referrals to YMCA’s Evidence-Based Program.
• Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises all health and wellness program staff and volunteers; evaluates staff regularly to ensure program quality and consistency.
• Plans, develops, promotes, and implements programs for active older adults that promote physical, mental, and social health.
• Maintains fitness equipment and facilities, including purchasing recommendations, maintenance and repairs.
