Job summary

YMCA of the USA in Midland, Texas is seeking a Health, Wellness & Recreation Director to lead community health programs at the new Northwest YMCA location. This role involves strategic planning and execution of wellness initiatives, supervising program staff, and engaging members to promote healthy living.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, with a Bachelor’s degree and relevant certifications, as well as a passion for community wellness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of program management and supervisory experience in fitness, recreation, or community health.
• CPR/AED & First Aid certified (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
• YMCA Multi-Team/Branch Leader Certification (or ability to obtain within first year).

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage all health & wellness, sports, and recreational programming.
• Supervise and support a team of instructors, trainers, and coaches.
• Ensure programs are inclusive, accessible, and aligned with community needs.
