Role: Well Testing Operator

We are seeking a skilled and safety‑conscious Well Testing Operator to join our team. The Well Testing Operator will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of well testing equipment, including surface well testing units, separators, flowlines, and auxiliary equipment. This role is critical in providing accurate data on well performance, fluid characteristics, and reservoir evaluation. The ideal candidate will be experienced in oil and gas field operations and committed to safety, efficiency, and environmental protection.

Responsibilities
  • Operate well testing equipment on-site, including wellheads, separators, flowlines, test equipment, and pressure control systems.
  • Monitor and control well test parameters such as pressure, temperature, flow rates, and fluid samples.
  • Perform setup, calibration, and maintenance of well testing units and associated equipment.
  • Ensure all well testing operations are conducted safely and comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Record accurate data and provide comprehensive well test reports to supervisors and engineering teams.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and coordinate repair or maintenance activities as needed.
  • Coordinate with the rig crew and other field personnel to ensure efficient and safe testing operations.
  • Perform regular equipment inspections to ensure proper functionality and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Participate in pre-job planning and risk assessments to ensure safety during well testing operations.
  • Monitor environmental factors and implement spill prevention and control measures.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Assist in the mobilization and demobilization of well testing equipment and crews at the job site.
  • Provide training and mentorship to less experienced operators, as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining well testing inventory, including tools, supplies, and consumables.
Qualifications & Skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical certification or training in well testing or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in well testing operations in the oil and gas industry.
  • In‑depth knowledge of well testing procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Strong understanding of pressure control equipment, separators, and flow measurement systems.
  • Experience working with wellheads, chokes, and valves.
  • Ability to read and interpret well data, including flow rates, pressure, and temperature.
  • Familiarity with reservoir testing, fluid sampling, and data logging.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various work sites.
  • Ability to work in remote locations and adapt to changing field conditions.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the oil and gas industry.
Position Details
  • Location: Local to Ruston, LA
  • Schedule: M‑F, 12 hour days
  • Compensation: $33‑50/hr (1099)
