Job summary

Magnolia Oil & Gas is seeking a Completion Engineer to lead design, planning, and execution of well completion operations in our Texas assets. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maximize well performance, optimize stimulation, and drive capital efficiency while upholding safety and data integrity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of oil and gas industry experience, preferably with an E&P company.
• Experience with conventional and unconventional completions and fracturing operations is required.
• Design of Experiments (DOE) experience in unconventional reservoirs.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) estimates with focus on capital accuracy and cost control.
• Collaborate with Geoscience and Reservoir teams to identify structural, geological, and wellbore risks that may require modifications to stimulation design or completion strategy.
• Develop comprehensive completion procedures from toe preparation through flowback, including perforating strategy and pump schedules.
• Provide daily engineering and operational support across all completion phases, identifying risks and proposing safety- and cost-improvement solutions.
• Lead DOE initiatives to evaluate stimulation variables against normalized performance metrics considering well-specific parameters.
• Maintain rigorous capital tracking and reconciliation, ensuring field costs and accruals align with AFE expectations and forecasts.
