Job summary

Oxy is seeking a Completions Engineer for the US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management Midland Basin, based in Midland, Texas. You will provide engineering, operations, regulatory and supply chain support for exploration, appraisal and development wells.

The role involves stimulation, cleanout and artificial lift design, on-site representation, a 70/30 field/office split, and coordination of logistics to optimize asset value. Relocation may be offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering discipline or equivalent.
• Risk Management skills, including knowledge of Risk Assessment and Management of Change
• Knowledge of HESMS and applicable governmental regulations
• Contractor performance management skills

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering, operations, regulatory and supply chain support for exploration, appraisal and development well work.
• Stimulation, cleanout and artificial lift procedures, cost estimates and well design changes.
• Act as on-site company representative for completion operations in a rotation team.
• 70/30 field/office split schedule.
• Supervise daily completions operations and coordinate logistics to optimize asset value.
• Design and manage high-profile, complex projects, individually or in a multidisciplinary team.
• Develop specific well plans with other completion engineers.
• Identify and evaluate appropriate offset wells and lead design reviews and risk assessments.
• Develop completion stimulation well designs.
• Assist with timely procurement and review invoices for accuracy.

We are currently looking for experienced, motivated, and creative individuals to fill a Completions Engineer position in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM), Midland Basin Business Unit based in Midland, Texas.

Responsibilities

• This Completions Engineer is responsible for providing engineering, operations, regulatory and supply chain management support for all exploration, appraisal and development well work. The work is to be conducted in a safe, legal, and environmentally responsible and effective manner.
• Responsible for stimulation, cleanout and artificial lift procedures, associated well cost estimates and well design changes for assigned wells.
• Will act as on-site company representative for assigned completion operation working in rotation with other individuals on a team.
• Work schedule will be a 70/30 field/office split.
• Supervise daily completions operations and coordinate all related logistics from move in to move out in a way that optimizes asset value.
• Technically capable of designing and managing high profile and challenging projects, including exploration wells, individually or as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Works with other completion engineers as a team to develop specific and complex well plans.
• Identifies and evaluates appropriate offset wells. Leads internal well design reviews, risk assessments and optimization plan that could be applied to a broader field development plan.
• Develops completion stimulation well designs.
• Assists with timely procurement of material, equipment and personnel. Reviews and approves invoices for accuracy.
