Job summary

Flex-N-Gate LLC. in Warren, MI seeks a skilled weldment maintenance technician responsible for mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical support of plant welding and assembly equipment.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and program welding robots (FANUC/ABB/MOTOMAN/NACHI/KUKA), perform preventive maintenance, and ensure safety and GMP compliance. This role requires the ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays, lift up to 50 lbs, and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic subsystems.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in environment with welding fumes from robots.
• Industrial equipment electrical troubleshooting and installation.
• A sound understanding of welding fundamentals and theory.
• Robot programming and troubleshooting for FANUC/ABB/MOTOMAN/NACHI/KUKA.
• Demonstrate good problem solving skills.
• Able to understand and troubleshoot basic electrical components and schematics.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and install hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair and program resistance and MIG welding equipment.
• Perform basic machining.
• Perform required Preventive Maintenance checks & related data with proper documentation.
• Complete required logs and repair documentation with legible records.
• Knowledge of proper Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Work independently.
• Execute all job responsibilities per Quality System requirements.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs and work in tight spaces.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and service machinery and support systems.
• Identify and troubleshoot production problems.
• Maintain production lines with preventive maintenance.
• Support daily production and address downtime and faults.
• Ensure feeders are stocked and parts are clean before filling machines.
• Verify sealer/adhesive systems are functional and maintained.
• Follow GMPs and safety policies; document deviations.
• Record and communicate system problems and solutions.

Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for technical, mechanical, pneumatic, electrical support, troubleshooting and repair of all plant welding and assembly equipment.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to :

• Installing, repairing, servicing machinery and equipment support systems
• Identifying and trouble-shooting production problems
• Maintaining production lines, perform predictive and preventive maintenance.
• Supporting daily production, addressing downtime, correcting and resetting faults, replacing Sensors , Cords , Caps , shunts , etc…….In a timely manner.
• Assuring all automatic nut/stud feeders are stocked verifying correct Part # and free of debris before filling machine.
• Assuring all Sealer/Adhesive is working properly ,purged as required and replaced when needed.
• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices along with all Safety Policies and Procedures
• Comply with all Quality System procedures , assure Red Rabbits are ran and recorded each shift , properly communicate any abnormal event if required to appropriate personnel.
• Ability to understand, record, and communicate system problems and solutions.
• Perform weld robot program touch ups.
• Perform weld robot programming for prototype work.
• Assemble and robotically weld prototype parts.
• Demonstrate good attendance with the ability to work extended hours, weekends and holidays.
• Any other duties as assigned by Managers, Supervisor and/or Leaders to ensure the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of products, processes and work.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES / EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

1. Must be able to work in environment with welding fumes from robots.

9. Troubleshoot, repair and program resistance and MIG welding equipment
10. Perform basic machining
11. Perform required Preventive Maintenance checks & related data assuring any related documentation is filled out properly
12. Complete required logs and repair documentation assuring it is legible and accurate
13. Knowledge of proper Lockout/Tagout procedures
14. Work independently
15. Execute all job responsibilities in accordance with Quality System requirements.
16. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs., twist, bend, squat, climb, stand and walk continuously in close, confined surroundings.
17. Related Work Experience – Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing welding maintenance.
18. Minimum Education – H.S. Diploma or GED
19. Must be able to work mandatory OT as required 6-7 days per week
