Job summary

Sabre Industries, Inc. in Sioux City, IA seeks a Welder Trainer to educate and guide welding staff. You will ensure adherence to welding parameters, train personnel, and support testing per AWS D1.1; you may also fill in for production leads and assist with projects.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years welding experience, ability to read blueprints, and certification capabilities including Sabre C and crane operations. This is a full‑time, on‑site role offering comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent, or any combination of education and experience.
• Experience: 3-5 years recent experience in a welding environment preferred.
• 1+ year recent experience fitting poles and arms including 3DLP is preferred (for utility divisions only).
• Ability to train and communicate well with trainees and staff; patient and versatile teaching methods.
• Read and understand English; read blueprints and safety manuals.

Responsibilities

• Train new employees in established welding standards and procedures.
• Coach existing employees needing refinement or upgrading of certifications.
• Communicate with Plant Managers regarding welding performance.
• Ensure personnel operate within established welding parameters.
• Oversee weld testing (1G or 2G) and prep test plates per AWS D1.1.
• Fill in as needed for production leads and assist with special projects.
