Utah State University’s School of Professional and Technical Education seeks a full-time, 9-month non-tenure track term instructor for the Welding Technology program at the USU Eastern Price campus. The role is 95% teaching with 5% service, starting January 2027, and will cover lab and theory welding courses.

The successful candidate will teach arc welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SMAW), read prints, inspect welds, and teach related topics, while assisting with PACs, advising, and student

Competenze

• S. or A.A.S. degree in welding or welding technology.
• At least two years of welding industry experience.
• CWI certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Journeyman-level welding skills in arc welding processes.
• Teaching-focused with commitment to USU Eastern mission.
• Commitment to student success.
• Willingness to improve instructional effectiveness and personal technical skills.
• Ability to work as part of an instructional team.

Mansioni

• Design and deliver classroom and hands-on instruction focused on maximizing student potential.
• Teach courses in common and advanced arc welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SMAW) according to AWS/ASME standards.
• Teach print reading, weld inspection, and metallurgy courses as needed.
• Teach evening/concurrent enrollment/community/workforce training courses as needed.
• Share in management and maintenance of welding equipment and facilities.
• Coordinate biannual PAC meetings with industry partners.
• Advise and recruit students; participate in SkillsUSA.
• Collaborate with faculty to enhance the welding program and student success.
