Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking an experienced Welder for nights and weekend shifts with differential pay. The role is based in Devens, MA, within Corporate Operations – Operations - Manufacturing.

This full-time, on-site position involves welding large metallic structures and tooling, reading drawings, and ensuring quality within schedules. You will setup welding processes, perform both manual and semi-automated welding, and troubleshoot manufacturing discrepancies.

Qualifications

5+ years' experience as a welder on large structural systems and tooling.
Ability to read and analyze drawings and take detailed measurements to plan layouts.
Experience welding stainless steel and copper using GTAW/GMAW/SMAW where applicable.
Must pass safety requirements and maintain strict attention to details.

Responsibilities

Weld and inspect large metallic structures and tooling within timelines and budgets.
Set up welding processes per specifications and determine correct equipment and methods.
Read drawings and take measurements to plan project layout; cut and join material.
Perform hand welding or semi-automated welding and use advanced welding techniques as needed.
Weld components in vertical, flat, and overhead positions; provide manufacturability feedback to design engineers.
