Job summary

Ryerson is hiring a Welder to apply welding and fabrication processes to metal, ensuring quality and customer standards are met. You will work with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, following layouts and blueprints, and ensuring accurate welds and safe operations.

Qualified candidates have 3+ years in steel manufacturing, strong MIG welding experience, and forklift/overhead crane skills. Enrollment in the registered apprenticeship program is expected as part of onboarding.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience in steel or industrial manufacturing.
• Extensive MIG welding experience; TIG experience preferred.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience.
• Physical ability to pass vision, hearing and mobility exams.
• Enrollment in a registered apprenticeship program during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Applies welding and assembling in fabrication environments on carbon steel, stainless and aluminum parts.
• Reads layouts, work orders and blueprints; positions parts in jigs using measuring tools.
• Inspects final work to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Adheres to safety practices and maintains required records.
