Job Responsibilities

Under supervision, working on rotating or straight shifts, to inspect, repair, maintain, and modify plant equipment, including:

  1. Conduct surveillance tests on plant equipment to assess condition and performance.
  2. Work independently using drawings, sketches, or instructions.
  3. Ensure equipment is properly isolated and safety devices are in use.
  4. Erect scaffolds and rigging.
  5. Operate shop equipment like pipe/threading machines, saws, drills, grinders.
  6. Perform skilled machinist work if qualified.
  7. Operate welding equipment and perform minor welding, soldering, or brazing.
  8. Perform certified welding and pipefitting if qualified.
  9. Repair and install piping, valves, and heat exchangers.
  10. Communicate with inspectors and management.
  11. Follow safety and radiation procedures.
  12. Assist with other duties, including cleaning and driving.
  13. Participate in plant activities as trained.
  14. Special Responsibilities

    On-the-job training, participation in ongoing training, understanding of emergency and security protocols, and active involvement in safety programs.

    Qualifications for Apprenticeship
  • At least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Pass medical and physical exams.
  • No recent disciplinary suspensions.
  • Interest and pride in craftsmanship.
  • Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodations.
  • Pass security and competency tests.
  • Relevant experience or certifications, including ASME code welds or competency exams.
Promotion Terms

Start as Apprentice Level 1, advance to Level 2 after completing Phase 1 of TPEs or one year, and to Journeyman after Phase 2 or two years.
