ELLWOOD National Forge in Irvine, PA is seeking a Welding Technician to operate welding equipment and perform multiple welding processes. The role requires reading blueprints and following procedures to ensure product quality.

The position involves rotating shifts, potential overtime, and maintaining a safe, organized weld area. Candidates should have at least 2 years of welding experience and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Welding.
• Ability to read blueprints and basic machining drawings.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime.

Responsabilités

• Operate welding equipment.
• Weld with Mig, Tig, Flux Core, Stick, Sub Arc.
• Verify dimensions against specifications.
• Read work orders and follow welding procedures.
• Review blueprints to determine methods.
• Feed materials into equipment.
• Load materials into Weld Station.
• Inspect welds visually.
• Maintain lot traceability and storage of filler metals.
• Align parts for proper assembly.
• Layout parts for assembly.
• Perform preventive maintenance in Weld Area.
• Keep area clean, safe and organized.
• Follow all safety rules; attend trainings.
• Overtime and rotating shifts required.

There are Welding Technician hourly positions in Irvine, PA, however from time to time may be assigned to Corry/Warren.

Job Duties

• Operate welding equipment.
• Perform Mig, Tig, Flux Core, Stick and Sub Arc welding.
• Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
• Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements.
• Read and follow welding procedures.
• Review blueprints or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences.
• Feed materials, wire or products into or through equipment.
• Load materials into Weld Station.
• Visual examination of welds.
• Maintain lot traceability and storage of filler metals.
• Align parts or workpieces to ensure proper assembly.
• Layout parts to prepare for assembly.
• Perform preventative maintenance duties associated to the proper function and operation of the Weld Area.
• Maintain working area in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
• Observe all safety rules and regulations.
• Attend all required meetings and trainings.
• Perform all other duties as required.
• Regular attendance as scheduled is an essential function including working rotating shifts, 24/7 shift schedules and mandatory overtime.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Welding
• Ability to work well with the team while also working independently
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read blueprints and basic machining drawings
• Detailed oriented and ability to organize and prioritize
• Strong Interpersonal skills and capable of working well with other departments

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate Degree, welding technology
• Through understanding of production welding and practices, capability and quality requirements.
