Job summary

Life Fitness / Hammer Strength in Minnesota seeks a Manufacturing Lead for the manual weld area. You will coordinate production, mentor welders, ensure safety and quality standards, and support continuous improvement.

The role requires MIG welding experience, strong communication, and leadership abilities. Must be able to lift 35 lbs, work around noise, and collaborate across departments to maintain production flow.

Qualifications

• Must have strong verbal and written communication.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints.
• Experience welding with MIG and related welding processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of production within the manual weld area.
• Weld MIG assemblies in line with engineering standards and safety.
• Cross-train employees and deploy to assignments while managing manpower, quality and materials.
• Provide hands-on guidance, safety training, and welding technique instruction.
• Develop and maintain time standards and ensure continuous material flow.
• Document discrepancies with welders and discuss with supervisor/manager.
• Lead small group meetings to address inefficient practices and drive improvements.
• Communicate work issues to supervisor/manager.
• Coordinate service work orders into daily production schedule.
• Liaise with other department leads and management.
• Assist with performance reviews and corrective actions as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
