Job summary

Kloeckner Metals - Americas is seeking a Welding Supervisor to oversee hourly weld shop staff, ensuring production meets volume and quality targets and customer requirements. The role includes weekend shift coverage (Fri-Sun, 6:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.) with overtime as needed.

You will lead training, scheduling, and safety initiatives while upholding PPE compliance and production standards in a heavy industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years welding experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Strong knowledge of material processing and welding.
• Experience in fabrication, welding inspection, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools.
• Experience in blueprint reading and GD&T.
• Understanding of the AWS D1.1 certification.

Responsibilities

• Accomplish Manufacturing Staff Results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling and disciplining employees, initiating, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies and procedures.
• Maintains weld shop staff by selecting, orienting and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities.
• Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries
• Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repair and the evaluation of equipment
• Perform daily inspections on welded and fabricated components produced through processes such as laser cutting, brake, welding, and assembly
• Perform daily safety observations, ensure PPE compliance and drive daily safety culture
• Ensures accuracy of employee timecards and managed personnel PTO requests
• Manages the subassembly inventory and ensure enough supply
