Job summary

SpaceX in Cape Canaveral, FL seeks a Supervis or, Welding (Starship) for the day shift to lead weld teams and drive high-quality fabrication. The role focuses on developing welding procedures, selection of materials, and ensuring compliance with welding codes for critical launch projects.

Required are 5+ years of welding experience (GTAW/FCAW/TIG/GMAW), plus 2+ years of leadership. Strong drawing interpretation and AWS code knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years welding experience in GTAW, FCAW, TIG or GMAW.
• 2+ years leading a team or project.
• Ability to interpret drawings and weld symbols per AWS A2.4.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1, D1.6, and D1.2.
• Technical trade school certificate preferred.
• Inconel welding experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate welding procedures.
• Assist with tooling and fixturing designs for weld operations.
• Select base and welding materials.
• Control production weld quality.
• Utilize welding codes and standards.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to junior welders.
• Enforce site and personnel safety.
• Review and edit work reports and records.
• Supervise daily welding team on launch projects.
• Assess candidates and provide hiring recommendations.
• Plan, schedule, assign, and review work.
• Monitor timekeeping records and performance measures.
