Job summary

Kinetic Custom Trailers in Waco seeks a skilled Welder to join our heavy manufacturing team. You will fabricate trailer components, ensure weld quality, and maintain production efficiency on a fast-paced shop floor.

The role requires reading blueprints, interpreting welding symbols, and performing multi-pass welds to AWS D1.1 standards. Candidates should have at least 2 years in heavy fabrication, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years in heavy manufacturing or structural fabrication.
• Flux or Metal Core welding experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints/layouts/schematics.
• Ability to measure within specified tolerances.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on heavy gauge steel using GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW processes.
• Lay out and cut complex subassemblies and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
• Fit and complete final welds and/or multi-pass welds in compliance with AWS D1.1 welding codes.
• Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Conduct routine inspection of welds and participate in quality assurance protocols by maintaining complete required records.
• Work collaboratively with production teams to meet project timelines.
• Complete other duties as required including helping to train other employees as needed on new tasks
• Understand and comply with all PPE requirements at all times, work safely every day and encourage all team members to do the same
• Provide training and assistance to other employees as assigned and willing to cross train
