Amsted Rail – Granite City facility is seeking a skilled welder to perform welding per AWS practices on castings and steel grades. The role involves defect identification/removal, use of carbon arc equipment, cutting torches, and finishing with proper gauging and documentation.
You will read drawings, operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and assist with hydrostatic testing prep. This non-exempt, full-time position offers union-based wage progression under the CBA and comprehensive benefits.

The hourly pay for this position is governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA). The current starting rate for this role is $24.31 per hour, with progression through the established wage scale based on tenure and contractual increases outlined in the agreement. All compensation is administered in accordance with the terms of the union contract.
This non-exempt role is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with the CBA and applicable federal and state laws.
