Job summary

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Weld Shop Helper in Hillsboro, OR to support the metal department and welding team. This entry-level position offers training with potential to advance into welding and fabrication, starting at $19–$21 per hour depending on experience.

The role includes tool prep, door hardware prep, painting prep, grinding welds, door window installation, and maintaining a safe, clean work area with a strong emphasis on teamwork and reliability.

Qualifications

• 6 mos of experience in metal fabrication preferred but not required if you are eager to be trained.
• Able to heavy lift. We promote team lifting!
• Show up everyday and be on time and ready to work.
• Able to use and operate hand tools & grinders
• Desire to create a long term working relationship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with prepping tools and materials and follow welders' instructions.
• Prep for locking hardware on doors and install windows.
• Prime painting materials.
• Grind welds and finish corners.
• Install windows in doors.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas.
• Identify safety risks and hazards and comply with safety procedures.
