Job summary

Aerotek in Lenexa, KS seeks a Quality Control Manager Welding to lead welding QC for boiler and pressure vessel projects. You will develop, implement, and maintain QC procedures, oversee welding inspection, coordinate NDE, and manage documentation for overlays and repairs in both shop and field settings.

You will train welding and inspection personnel, audit sites, analyze weld data, and drive continuous improvement with project teams to ensure quality and safety across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Must have welding QC/inspection experience with boiler/pressure vessel codes.
• Experience with NDE methods (VT, PT, UT) and PMI verification.
• Ability to lead and train welding/inspection teams and coordinate multi-project QC activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain welding QC procedures for boiler/pressure vessel projects.
• Ensure welding activities comply with codes, specs, and internal standards.
• Review and approve welding procedures and welder qualifications.
• Supervise welding inspection in shop and field environments.
• Plan and coordinate NDE activities and document results.
• Audit sites for QA/QC compliance and safety requirements.
• Identify and resolve welding quality issues and nonconformances.
• Analyze weld data and metrics to drive corrective actions and reduce rework.
• Provide guidance and training on welding techniques and quality expectations.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, and operations.
