Job summary

TEI Construction Services, Inc. is seeking a Site QC Manager to ensure strict adherence to quality control standards, codes, and customer specs on the job site. You will report to the Project Manager and supervise QC Inspectors while coordinating NDE activities and stamping for critical items.

The role demands a CWI certification, 8–10 years in ASME NBIC/BPVC environments, and strong leadership with keen attention to detail to maintain project integrity and safety.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from AWS.
  • 8–10 years of experience in ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code construction and/or National Board Inspection Code repair work, with at least four years in QC.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills for team management.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and applying relevant codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain detailed job packages documenting all project welding activities.
  • Monitor daily site activities to verify compliance with customer specs, QC guidelines, jurisdictional regulations, and relevant codes.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify deviations and address noncompliance.
  • Coordinate Authorized Inspection activities and oversee stamping for pressure retaining items.
  • Document and promptly resolve nonconforming conditions, implementing corrective actions.
  • Coordinate nondestructive examination activities and oversee QA Inspectors for reliable results.
  • Direct and supervise subordinate Quality Control Inspectors to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with customer requirements and applicable codes.

Position Summary

The Site QC Manager is responsible for ensuring strict adherence to quality control standards, customer specifications, and relevant codes during all Company operations conducted on the job site. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, this role plays a crucial part in maintaining the integrity and safety of all project activities.

Quality Control
  • Prepare and meticulously maintain detailed job packages to accurately document all project welding activities.
  • Monitor daily activities on the job site to verify compliance with customer specifications, quality control guidelines, jurisdictional regulations, and relevant codes.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify any deviations and promptly address noncompliant conditions.
  • Coordinate Authorized Inspection activities and oversee the application of required stamping for pressure retaining items.

Technical Acumen
  • Verify the use of proper welding procedure specifications and ensure proper storage and control of welding electrodes to maintain quality standards.

Collaboration
  • Coordinate and oversee nondestructive examination activities to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Direct and supervise subordinate Quality Control Inspectors, providing guidance and support to ensure consistent adherence to quality standards.
Critical Thinking
  • Ensure that all documentation aligns with customer requirements, quality control standards, and applicable codes.
  • Possession of a valid Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from AWS.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code construction and/or National Board Inspection Code repair work, with at least four years in a Quality Control function.
  • Some training minimum, but less than a high school diploma is acceptable.
  • Experience: 8 to 10 years.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and applying relevant codes and standards.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills for effective team management.
