Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Welding Specialist to lead reviews of fabrication documents, WPS/PQR, NDE procedures, and ITPs. You will collaborate with mechanical, piping and other engineers to ensure contract compliance and optimize quality across large construction projects.

The role requires extensive experience with ASME codes, welding procedures, and supplier qualification, plus strong communication and training skills for the supplier quality team.

Qualifications

• Welding engineering knowledge and extensive experience in quality control/industrial construction.
• Familiarity with ASME VIII, B31.3, ASME IX and related standards.
• Experience reviewing WPS, PORs, NDE reports and supplier submittals.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve fabrication process documents and ITPs.
• Lead reviews with engineers and suppliers to meet contract requirements.
• Manage budgets, estimates and expenditures for projects.
• Lead supplier quality initiatives and shop surveillance planning.
• Provide technical feedback and resolve NCRs.
• Deliver training and technical presentations to supplier quality teams.
• Ensure compliance with codes and standards in welding and coatings.
