Job summary

Magic Tilt Trailers in Clearwater, FL is seeking a QC Weld Technician to perform visual, dimensional, and workmanship inspections of aluminum and steel weldments throughout the manufacturing process. The role ensures welded components conform to approved drawings, WPS, and company quality standards.

The incumbent will verify weld quality at production hold points, document findings, participate in root-cause investigations, and support continuous improvement efforts to reduce defects and rework.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years’ experience in quality control, preferably in manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of welding and fabrication processes; aluminum preferred.
• Advanced computer skills; AWS Welding Certificates D1.1 or D1.2.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection of aluminum and steel welds during production.
• Assist with development and maintenance of visual weld acceptance standards.
• Verify welds against engineering drawings, WPS, work instructions, and acceptance criteria.
• Inspect fillet welds, groove welds, intermittent welds, and other weld configurations.
• Identify visible welding discontinuities and workmanship concerns.
• Verify weld quality on both aluminum and carbon steel components and assemblies.
• Identify distortion, twisting, bowing, or misalignment due to welding or fabrication.
• Record inspection results electronically.
• Communicate findings through weekly team meetings.
• Participate in root cause investigations and continuous improvement activities.
