Job summary

Module X Solutions is seeking a Welding Quality Inspector to perform daily QA inspections on welded products, including modular buildings and solar skids, ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to QC checklists.

You will work on the 2nd shift, conduct NDT inspections, and participate in welding tests. Qualifications include a HS Diploma, 1+ year in metal fabrication or inspection, and knowledge of AWS D1.1.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in metal fabrication or inspection.
• NDT Level II VT and MT and/or CWI certification.
• Knowledge of welding standards such as AWS D1.1.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Training in Welding Technology.
• Knowledge of manufacturing inspection processes.
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily QA inspections of welded products per QC checklists and drawings.
• Examine shelters, skids, and containers as needed.
• Verify fit-up and layout meets drawings specifications.
• Perform NDT inspections of lifting lugs and welds.
• Document deficiencies and follow-up with production.
• Assist with welding and fitter tests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

HOURS

• Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM
• You will attend orientation at the normal start time then the following day you will come in at your schedule of 2:30PM.
• While working on the 2nd shift, a $2.00/hour shift differential will be added to the base hourly rate.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for inspections of fabricated products, including but not limited to modular buildings and solar skids, to ensure compliance to drawings and specifications.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs daily quality assurance inspections of welded products as required by Quality Control [QC] checklists, drawings, and specifications
• Examine all shelters, skids, and containers as needed
• Verify fit up and layout of products meet drawings specifications
• Complete NDT [Magnetic Particle] inspections of lifting lugs and visual inspection of all welds
• Document product deficiencies and follow-up with production to ensure they are corrected
• Assist with all welding and fitter tests
• Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• High School Diploma/GED
• Tech or Trade School completion preferred.

Work Experience

• 1+ year experience in a metal fabrication or inspection related job.

Related Experience

• NDT Level II VT and MT and/or CWI certification
• Good understanding of welding standards such as AWS D1.1
• Effective written and verbal communication
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks; keep up in a fast-paced environment
• Training in Welding Technology
• Knowledge and experience with manufacturing inspection process
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.
