Job summary

Crawford Mechanical Services, a Quantum Industrial company, is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to lead welding inspection activities across fabrication shop, construction sites, and field work in Utah. You will ensure welds and assemblies meet AWS, ASME, and project specs, while maintaining documentation and quality records.

The role requires a CWI, 3–5+ years welding inspection experience, strong reading of blueprints and WPS/PQR, and familiarity with NDT methods.

Qualifications

• AWS CWI certification is required.
• 3–5+ years welding inspection experience in fabrication or piping.
• Solid knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME IX, and B31.1/B31.3 codes.
• Ability to read blueprints and WPS/PQR documentation.
• Familiarity with NDT methods is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office and quality documentation processes.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welds and fabricated assemblies.
• Verify base materials and welding consumables per WPS requirements.
• Monitor welding operations for AWS/ASME code compliance.
• Coordinate and support NDT activities (UT, MT, PT, RT).
• Maintain inspection reports, NCRs, and project turnover docs.
• Witness welder qualification testing and maintain continuity records.
• Collaborate with fabrication teams and inspectors to resolve quality concerns.
• Support continuous improvement and safety culture.
