Job summary

DBM Global in Ottawa, KS is seeking a QC Inspector for the Ottawa shop to ensure dimensional accuracy and weld quality in fabrications. You will perform dimensional/visual inspections, maintain inspection records, and interact with customers’ inspectors to resolve discrepancies.

The role requires a High School Diploma and 3+ years in inspection; AWS-CWI or related certs are preferred. Familiarity with AISC/W178.2 materials and structural welding codes is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 years of related experience.
• CWI certifications preferred (AWS/CSA codes knowledge).
• Knowledge of AWS and AISC codes for steel fabrication and erection.

Responsibilities

• Perform a dimensional and visual inspection of shop fabrication, including final paint inspections, weld preparations and final welds.
• Record and maintain in-process and final inspection records for quality assurance and production control.
• Identify and remedy drawing discrepancies with detailers.
• Coordinate with customers' inspectors during inspection phases.
• Inform foremen of defects in fabrication.
• Assist shop personnel with the interpretation of codes, drawings and specifications
