Wright Manufacturing, Inc. in Maryland is seeking an experienced Production Department Manager to lead the Weld Department responsible for the fabrication and production of commercial lawn mowers.

This role focuses on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost, and development of a two-shift welding operation with 50+ staff. You will direct two Group Leaders and eight Team Leaders, setting clear expectations, developing frontline leaders, maintaining production flow, and driving continuous

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing experience in welding, fabrication, metalworking, or related production environment.
• 3+ years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a sizable hourly workforce through frontline supervisors or team leaders.
• Strong communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple shifts and adjust hours to support second-shift operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production activities across two shifts to meet safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives.
• Ensure staffing, equipment, materials, and production priorities align with the manufacturing schedule.
• Directly lead and develop the two Group Leaders, and establish expectations for Team Leaders.
• Build leadership capabilities to ensure daily accountability at the appropriate level.
• Foster culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure welded components meet Wright Manufacturing standards and specs.
• Lead continuous-improvement activities focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
• Collaborate with Maintenance to maintain welding equipment and fixtures.
