About The Position
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated **Welding, Metals Fabrication, and Machine Shop Instructor** to join our vocational school in Pennsylvania. In this role, you will teach students not only the fundamentals of welding and metals fabrication, but also machine shop tooling, including the operation and maintenance of machines such as lathes, mills, drills, and grinders. You will provide both theoretical and hands-on training in our welding, fabrication, and machine shop labs, ensuring that students are well-equipped with the technical skills needed for successful careers in welding, fabrication, and manufacturing.

- Full time teaching position (185 days), availability dependent upon applicant availability
- Grades 9 through 12
- Salary & Benefits as per Professional Collective Bargaining Agreement

Responsibilities
- Instruct students in welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, Stick welding, as well as metals fabrication processes like cutting, grinding, bending, and assembly.
- Teach students to safely operate and maintain machine shop tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, surface grinders, and CNC machinery.
- Guide students in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and weld symbols for fabrication and machining projects.
- Provide training on measuring and machining techniques to produce precise metal components and parts.
- Prepare detailed lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that align with industry standards and certifications.
- Offer hands-on experience, allowing students to work with both welding equipment and machine shop tooling in a real-world environment.
- Ensure a safe and organized work environment, adhering to OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
- Monitor student progress, assess performance, and provide constructive feedback to help students improve their technical skills.
- Assist in the maintenance and calibration of welding, fabrication, and machine shop equipment.
- Stay current with trends, technologies, and safety practices in welding, fabrication, and machining.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in education or related field is a plus).
- Welding Certification (AWS, ASME, or similar certification preferred).
- Extensive experience in welding, metals fabrication, and machine shop tooling, with proficiency in machine operations, including CNC machining.
- Minimum of four years (8000 hours or the equivalent, if part-time) of documented professional experience in welding, fabrication, and/or machining.
- Previous teaching or training experience is a plus, but not required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for teaching and mentoring students in hands-on learning environments.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students.
- Highly organized, self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to relate well and motivate high school aged students.
- Must be able to work independently and prepare lesson plans based upon a prescribed curriculum.
- Strong computer and organizational skills.
