Job summary

VDL USA Holding Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer - Welding in Georgia to lead welding projects from quotation through production launch and ongoing improvement. You will apply DfM, develop WPS, and design weld fixtures while driving quality, productivity, and cost reductions.

The role collaborates with Engineering, Production, Quality, Project Management and Planning to ensure safe, repeatable manufacturing that meets customer requirements and AWS standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a welding/manufacturing discipline.
• AWS CWE and AWS CWI certifications required.
• 7+ years welding and fabrication manufacturing experience.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication and structural weldments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as welding SME for MIG and TIG processes across projects.
• Lead NPI readiness, production launch, and process improvements.
• Develop and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and weld parameters.
• Design weld fixtures, tooling, and work-holding solutions.
• Coordinate welding qualification, NDT, and root-cause analysis of defects.
• Support cost, labor standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
