Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana is seeking a part-time Welding Work-Study student to assist the Chair of the School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering, and Applied Science with lab and class duties. The role supports material prep, equipment maintenance, inventory, and lab cleanliness in the welding area.

Starting pay is $15.00 per hour. Eligible students must meet FAFSA, maintain enrollment, and SAP status; no prior experience is required, though customer service helps.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Student must complete FAFSA for the current academic year.
• Maintain a minimum of 1 credit hour of enrollment in eligible courses.
• Maintain an aid-eligible SAP status and avoid incomplete financial aid requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with material preparation for welding classes.
• Assist with inventory of welding lab consumables and non-consumables.
• Assist with maintenance of welding machinery and lab equipment.
• Help with housekeeping in the welding lab and classroom.
• Assist with scrap material removal and plasma table maintenance.
