Job summary

West Georgia Technical College is seeking a Lab Assistant for Welding & Joining MT&T-1 to support instructors and students in the welding laboratory. The role includes assisting with classroom instruction, maintaining safety procedures, and preparing materials for classes.

Work is on a per-semester basis, part-time, with no benefits. The position requires basic welding coursework or related experience and a valid driver's license; shifts may include mornings, afternoons, or evenings.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of courses which are appropriate to the assignment, or directly related experience in Welding and Joining Technology.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assisting faculty members with classroom instruction and supervising students.
• Adherence to safety procedures in the welding lab.
• Assistance with preparation of materials and equipment for classes, including texts and supplies.
• Tutoring or mentoring students; cleaning labs as needed; and obtaining materials for classes.
