Job summary

Southwestern Michigan College seeks a full-time Welding Faculty member to teach a variety of welding courses primarily on the Niles, MI campus. Courses may be offered day or evening hours, with a strong emphasis on hands-on instruction and safety.

The candidate will deliver lecture and laboratory instruction, maintain curriculum materials, and engage students using diverse teaching methods. Strong industry experience and relevant credentials are preferred for this on-site position at the School

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a welding-related degree or credential with industry experience.
• Or a recognized welding credential with years of experience.
• Or at least five years of welding-related industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver all lecture and laboratory instruction per curriculum.
• Maintain current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation methods.
• Engage learners with active and collaborative teaching strategies.
• Ensure safety protocols and a safe learning environment for all.
• Remain current in the welding field and maintain subject-matter expertise.
• Contribute to the School of Business and Advanced Technology and participate in college committees.
