Job summary

Medina County Career Center seeks a Welding Instructor to plan and deliver a comprehensive curriculum, demonstrate hands-on welding techniques, and use diverse teaching methods and technology to support student learning. The role focuses on building technical and communication skills to prepare students for successful careers.

Requirements include an Ohio teaching license or eligibility, five years of welding industry experience with recent work, and relevant welding certifications.

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio teaching license authorizing Welding and Cutting or eligibility to obtain it before starting the assignment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years welding industry experience, including at least three years in the past five years.
• At least two welding certifications or qualifications within one year of hire.
• Knowledge of welding and cutting processes, blueprint reading, metallurgy, and safety.
• Ability to set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain Lincoln Electric equipment.
• Ability to obtain Train the Trainer for Lincoln Electric's LEEPS Program.
• Ability to teach high school students with varying learning needs through effective instruction.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and handle up to 50 pounds; work indoors/outdoors as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver approved curriculum for welding courses.
• Demonstrate practical welding skills in class and lab.
• Use varied teaching methods and technology to meet diverse learners.
• Prepare students for industry credentials and employment opportunities.
• Maintain a safe, organized welding lab and accurate records.
