Salary: $67,948 - $91,358 (Salary commensurate with rank.)

What You'll Do:
  • Teach credit and non-credit welding courses using engaging, hands-on instructional methods.
  • Train students in safe welding practices, equipment operation, material handling, housekeeping, and shop procedures.
  • Evaluate weld quality, strength, and workmanship; maintain required inspection documentation.
  • Prepare course materials, syllabi, assessments, and learning activities aligned with approved curriculum and program outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grades, student progress records, and required reports.
  • Provide academic advising, tutoring, mentoring, and timely feedback to support student success and retention.
  • Help students pursue employment, certifications, and continued education through career guidance, recommendations, and industry connections.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local employers and industry partners to support placement and workforce-training opportunities.
  • Ensure welding equipment and instructional technology are safe, operational, and ready for use.
  • Participate in advisory committees, recruitment events, registration, college meetings, professional development, and institutional service.
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful learning environment for students, colleagues, and visitors.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 36 months of professional welding experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of—and ability to teach—a range of welding processes and courses.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality standards, student success, and workforce readiness.
  • Effective instructional, organizational, computer, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • NCCER Core or OSHA certification preferred; candidates without certification must obtain it within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential.
  • College-level or high-school teaching experience.
