Job summary

Pennoni seeks Fulltime and Part Time Certified Welding Inspectors for Hartford, CT, with projects across CT, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI and VT. You will inspect structural steel fabrication, welding, and coatings at off-site facilities supporting transportation projects.

Ideal candidates hold an AWS CWI, have 0–3 years of inspection experience, and are able to travel. Familiarity with AWS D1.1/D1.5 and strong documentation skills are required.

Qualifications

• CWI certification required.
• 0–3 years structural steel inspection experience.
• Experience in fabrication shop environments.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1/D1.5 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection of structural steel fabrication, welding, and coatings.
• Verify compliance with shop drawings, WPS/PQRs, and welder certifications.
• Ensure adherence to AWS D1.1/D1.5, AASHTO and DOT specs.
• Monitor fabrication processes including welding, bolting, and coating.
• Witness and document NDT activities.
• Identify and report non-conformances.
• Prepare detailed daily reports.
• Coordinate with fabricators and project teams.
• Provide updates to clients and internal project teams.
