Job summary

Construction Material Testing in Bowling Green, KY seeks a Certified Welding Inspector II with authority to accept/reject welds on structural steel, pipe, and fabrications, per AWS D1.1 and related codes. The role requires AWS CWI and 2+ years’ inspecting experience.

You will review WPS/PQR, witness welder tests, direct NDT, and write reports for engineers and the building official. Growth includes sponsored ICC steel/bolting training and SCWI pathway.

Qualifications

• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with 2+ years inspecting under it.
• Working command of AWS D1.1 and at least one of D1.5, D1.8, ASME IX, or API 1104.
• ICC structural steel and bolting special inspector certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and sign visual weld inspection with accept/reject authority to the governing code.
• Review WPS, PQR, and welder qualification records; witness tests.
• Direct nondestructive testing and write inspection reports for the engineer and building official.
