Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector II to perform visual weld inspections, review WPS/PQR, and witness welder qualifications. You will direct nondestructive testing and sign inspection reports relied upon by engineers and officials.

The role requires a current AWS CWI with 2+ years of experience, familiarity with D1.1 and at least one of D1.5, D1.8, ASME IX, or API 1104; ICC steel and bolting certification preferred and may be sponsored.

Qualifications

• Current AWS CWI with 2+ years inspecting under it.
• Working command of AWS D1.1 and at least one of D1.5, D1.8, ASME IX, or API 1104.
• ICC structural steel and bolting special inspector certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and sign visual weld inspection with accept/reject authority to the governing code.
• Review WPS, PQR, and welder qualification records; witness qualification tests.
• Direct and interpret nondestructive testing; write repair instructions and nonconformance reports.
