Job summary

Woods Equipment Company, part of the Oregon Tool, Inc. family, is seeking a Welder I for our first shift to join a manufacturing team focused on high-quality welds. You will set up, weld, and inspect components in a production environment, ensuring conformity to blueprints and specs.

Successful candidates will have at least six months of welding experience, pass the Welder I test, and adhere to safety policies while maintaining organized workstations and meeting production goals.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Six months to one year of welding-related experience.
  • Ability to successfully complete the Welder I qualification test.
  • Commitment to safety policies and PPE standards.
  • Maintain welding screens and protective barriers for a safe work environment.
  • Keep workstations organized and production-ready.
  • Ability to read safety docs, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Willingness to cross-train and support other departments.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and position components for welding operations.
  • Perform welds per processes, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Maintain weld fixture integrity and ensure assemblies meet specs.
  • Execute welds in flat and horizontal positions with quality adherence.
  • Work with carbon steel and other alloys using MIG and related processes.
  • Notify leaders when fixtures or equipment need maintenance or adjustment.
  • Complete welding tasks across multiple positions and complexities.
  • Handle structural, load-bearing, pressure-related, or safety-sensitive welds.
  • Adjust welding parameters and equipment for optimal results.
  • Interpret weld symbols and technical specifications.
  • Contribute to quality, efficiency, and safety improvements.
  • Meet production schedules with craftsmanship and attention to detail.
  • Support additional manufacturing responsibilities as needed.
