Caterpillar Inc. is offering a Welding Engineer Intern position in the United States, onsite five days a week.

You will contribute to welding production and development activities under a mentor, with a meaningful project and real-world application of classroom learning. Minimum qualifications require enrollment in a 4-year welding program with a GPA of 2.8 or higher; preferred candidates have prior co-op/internship experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Currently in the process of obtaining a 4 year or advanced degree in Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology or other relevant degree.

Responsibilities

• Welding test performance and data analysis.
• Materials research and analysis.
• Manufacturing support focusing on performance, cost, serviceability and manufacturability.
• Welding processes may include GTAW, GMAW, SAW, FCAW with robotic solutions and cobots.
