You will partner with welders and supervisors to ensure procedures align with customer contracts and industry standards. The role involves developing and reviewing welding procedures, selecting filler metals, aiding equipment design, qualifying welders, and maintaining documentation to meet customer specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering required.
• ABET accreditation preferred.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DOE security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide welding engineering services for Mount Vernon, IN products.
• Assist welders and welding supervisors during critical operations.
• Review customer contract requirements and develop procedures.
• Determine weld filler metal needs, order materials.
• Determine welding equipment needs and assist in design/purchase.
• Review code specs and write welder qualification procedures.
• Drive quality and man-hour improvements in welding operations.
• Prepare and review welding/fabrication plans.
• Qualify, document, and maintain welding procedures and welders.
• Troubleshoot welding operations and equipment issues.
• Ensure welding processes meet customer specifications.
• Maintain good work practices in welding operations.
