GTI Fabrication in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a highly experienced Weld Engineer to lead manufacturing process design, control, and continuous improvement for modular enclosures and steel weldments.

You will use SolidWorks and AutoCAD to design fixtures, drive NPI to full production, apply Lean principles, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and quality in ISO9001 environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Weld Engineering and active AWS CWI certification.
• Experience in weld engineering and manufacturing engineering in modular fabrication, defense, energy, or industrial equipment.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and ISO9001 quality systems.
• Proven success in process development and production scaling.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for modular systems and steel structures.
• Develop weld mapping and work instructions.
• Use CAD tools to design fixtures, tooling, and work-holding solutions.
• Translate engineering requirements into robust production processes.
• Lead new product introductions from prototype to full-rate production.
• Apply Lean principles to reduce waste and improve flow.
• Integrate automated and digital manufacturing technologies where applicable.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and production capability.
• Utilize ERP to manage process documentation and real-time operations visibility.
