Job summary

DSJ Global is sourcing a Welding Engineer III for Seattle, WA, to lead welding procedures meeting ASME, AWS, ABS, and NAVSEA standards on shipbuilding and repair projects.

The ideal candidate will provide hands-on guidance to fabrication teams, manage welder qualifications, and drive process improvements while ensuring quality and compliance across multiple projects. A BS degree in welding/manufacturing/mechanical engineering and 5+ years of welding experience are required.

• BS/BE degree as listed in qualifications.
• 5+ years welding experience and/or supervision.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain welding procedures meeting ASME, AWS, ABS, NAVSEA requirements for various projects.
• Provide technical guidance to production and welding personnel on fabrication methods, material requirements, welding specs, and critical joints.
• Improve welding processes by evaluating new technologies, optimizing procedures/equipment, and supporting cost-effective fabrication while maintaining quality.
• Manage welder qualification programs, PQRs, and code compliance activities with engineering, suppliers, customers, and quality teams.

Summary:

A reputable shipbuilding company is seeking an experienced, hands-on Welding Engineer III in Seattle, WA.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain welding procedures that meet ASME, AWS, ABS, and NAVSEA code requirements for commercial, government, and ship repair projects.
• Provide technical guidance to production and welding personnel on fabrication methods, material requirements, welding specifications, and critical joint applications.
• Improve welding processes by evaluating new technologies, optimizing procedures and equipment, and supporting cost-effective fabrication while maintaining quality standards.
• Manage welder qualification programs, procedure qualification records (PQRs), and code compliance activities while collaborating with engineering, suppliers, customers, and quality teams.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Welding Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years of welding experience and/or welding supervision
• Must be a US Citizen due to the nature of this role
