Job summary

HRU Technical Resources seeks a Welding Engineer to support welding process development and automation in a manufacturing setting in Ogden, UT. Role includes design, validation, and optimization of welding processes and automated systems to meet quality, safety, and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate will handle welding codes, fixture design, weld inspection, and manufacturing operations, with travel up to 40% to Michigan and Colorado Springs.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS D1.1, D1.2, D1.3, D1.6, B2.1, ASME IX)
• Hands-on experience with FCAW and GMAW welding processes
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Experience with non-destructive testing methods (UT, RT, MT, VT) and weld inspection

Responsibilities

• Design and develop welding fixtures and tooling.
• Establish and optimize welding process parameters for production.
• Validate weld fixtures and finished-part gauge verifications.
• Develop process controls for automated welding systems and PLC interfaces.
• Ensure compliance with welding codes, standards, and customer specs.
