Job summary

Talent Solutions Partners seeks a Weld Engineer to develop and sustain welding and additive manufacturing processes (AWS, ASME). The role combines hands-on shop support with problem solving and program accreditation responsibilities.

You will partner with QA, NDT, and the materials lab to write procedures, review weld qualifications, perform root cause analyses, and lead technical dispositions and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Weld Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Materials Science; comparable industry experience considered.
• Minimum 1–3 years’ experience as a weld engineer or related additive manufacturing research.
• Experience in building and maintaining a certified weld program.
• Strong understanding of physical metallurgy in welding, metalworking, and heat treatment.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Technical skills include: Weld Engineering, Physical Metallurgy, Heat treatment, Mechanical Testing, Microstructural Interpretation, Failure Analysis, NDE, Industry and Customer Specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the welding program (AWS, ASME and others). Collaborate with quality for certification enhancements.
• Provide on-the-floor support to welders and engineering team in welding and additive processes.
• Work with NDT to develop and sustain weld inspection program.
• Develop, write, and ensure execution of welding and additive manufacturing procedures.
• Develop and submit customer-facing work procedures for new and repaired products.
• Review process and welder qualification samples with materials lab to ensure quality.
• Interpret industry and customer specifications and communicate requirements.
• Teach welding concepts to office and shop staff.
• Troubleshoot using a scientific approach and provide dispositions for weld quality rejections.
