The primary job function of the Welding Engineer will support production welding processes by providing knowledge on industry best practices, and a keen eye for continuous improvement. This position will also be responsible for the start-up and debug of fabrication equipment, both manual and robotic. This position will be able to implement ISO standards into the Fabrication Department. This individual must be available to travel to any location designated by GROB.

  • Provide welding engineering support for production
  • Develop and implement advanced welding processes including Laser, MIG/TIG, and Braze
  • Provide innovative, technically significant and economically important material and welding solutions in support of manufacturing and design
  • Inspect welds and provide feedback
  • Implement ISO standards in the Fabrication Department
  • Implement ISO standards at Suppliers

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science or equivalent is required OR equivalent work experience
  • PLC or CNC programming experience (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Rockwell, or Fanuc 30i CNC knowledge preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years engineering experience
  • Knowledge of electrical design
  • Laser welding experience preferred
  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints

General Requirements:

  • Self-motivated and team player
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Willing to work overtime as needed
  • Willing to travel domestic and international
  • Ability to secure and maintain a valid passport
