Job summary

Skilled US seeks a Welding Career & Technical Education Instructor to lead welding pathways for high school students and to deliver workforce-ready programming for adults and opportunity youth. You will provide hands-on, industry-aligned instruction preparing learners for industry credentials and postsecondary transition.

In addition to technical welding, you will teach structured workforce readiness, including employability skills, workplace professionalism, and career planning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to obtain Indiana Workplace Specialist License, or eligible with 5+ years welding industry experience.
• Proficiency in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and oxy-fuel cutting.
• OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to pass background check.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• NCCER Instructor Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• AWS certification is preferred.
• Experience teaching youth, adults, or mentoring apprentices.
• Experience in workforce development or opportunity youth programming.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality welding instruction aligned to state CTE and IET standards.
• Teach welding processes including SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and oxy-fuel cutting.
• Prepare learners for OSHA-10 and industry credentials.
• Deliver workforce readiness curriculum for youth and adults.
• Integrate technical math, blueprint reading, and employability skills.
• Differentiation of instruction to support diverse learners.
