Job summary

Westerman, Inc. in Casper, WY is seeking an entry-level Welder Apprentice to learn on the shop floor. Earn $18 per hour while gaining hands-on welding experience under experienced mentors.

This on-site role offers a Monday–Friday 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. schedule with weekends as needed and relocation not required. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent; welding-school certificate or some welding experience is helpful.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to show up on time daily.
• Practice and pass basic welder qualification tests by end of course.
• Intermediate math skills and ability to read a tape measure; training is available.

Responsibilities

• Set up welding machines for MIG or Flux-Core welding to meet production and quality requirements.
• Assist experienced welders with fit-up, grinding, cutting, and equipment setup.
• Help lay out tank and pressure-vessel parts.
• Learn and safely perform SMAW, GMAW, or SAW welding tasks.
• Safely use hand, air, and power tools.
• Learn to identify and document vessel parts and components.
• Work with your mentor and follow group leaders.
