Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking an Experienced Welder to perform production welding, service and repair welding, prototype building and fitter work in a fast-paced setting. You will weld to preset parameters using MIG, ARC, and TIG processes and collaborate with supervisors to drive continuous improvements in work cells.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, AWS D1.1 SMAW certification, and experience in heavy Truck or automotive environments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• College or post secondary education is preferred
• AWS D1.1 SMAW Certification required
• Previous experience in Heavy Truck, Automotive or related industry experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct repairs, modifications and retrofits
• Conduct technical inspections
• Fabrication of custom prototypes from supplied drawings, fabrication of custom jigs and fixtures
• Perform maintenance on returned products to be refurbished or re-worked to customer specifications
• Keep detailed and accurate reports and documentation
• Operate manual or semi automatic flame cutting equipment
• Operate brazing and soldering equipment
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
• Repair machinery and other components
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
• Conduct project review and planning
• Fuel tank and card lock repairs
